The all-new ReptiRad advanced reptile radiator is now available in North America

Featuring the classic galvanized steel design, with only an 18.5 mm thickness this slimline unit is built to deliver the ultimate compact and discreet heating for your animals.  All components are UL listed components and these radiant heat panels are robust and built to last while in a very compact size.

These panels are now pending UL Certification – A first in this product!  A product that is UL Listed is one that has been tested and found to have met strict standards for safety and sustainability. These standards include fire and flame resistance, functionality, and potential electrical hazards.

The revolutionary radiant heat system features a Fiber Optic Heat Element encased in double silicone insulation with aluminum backing to deflect the heat downward and produce heat quickly, evenly and most of all safely. All of this is encased in a 1.5mm galvanized steel back plate and a 1mm steel coated front plate to direct heat downwards leaving a small 2mm gap for heat to be distributed instead of transferred upwards.  What we have achieved here is an incredible difference between the heat on the front of the panel and the heat on the back of the panel. The slim line case is less than 3/4 inches thick!

All heat panels are hand assembled in Italy.  This ensures they are a quality product and made with precision!

The new style of ReptiRad now comes with a 2-meter cable with an inline connection as standard! This means installation is a breeze, simply disconnect the cable and install the ReptiRad into your enclosure – connect it back up and plug it into your thermostat of choice!

Product Installation

Once you have unboxed your new ReptiRad - Advanced Reptile Radiator follow these simple instructions;

  1. Disconnect the in-line connector from the ReptiRad.
  2. Using the correct tools, position and mark where you want your new ReptiRad to go.
  3. Using the screws provided (do not use any other screws, if for any reason you need additional screws please contact us) screw in your ReptiRad to the ceiling of your enclosure.
  4. Lead your cable out of your enclosure. We recommend using the circular vents, although you can make your own hole if preferred.
  5. Ensure the wire is flush to your ceiling or that there is nowhere for your animals to cling/wrap onto.
  6. Only use a pulse-proportional or dimming thermostat.
  7. Plug into your thermostat and set your desired temperatures.
  8. Ensure your enclosure has everything EXCEPT your animal in to allow for gradual heating.
  9. Leave for up to 24 hours for the enclosure to reach the set temperatures.
  10. Once all of these steps are followed, place your animal into your newly heated enclosure.

FAQ FROM REPTIRAD

Do I need a heat guard with the ReptiRads?

We get asked a lot of times why we don't manufacture or supply heat guards for the ReptiRad.

We have spent time developing and testing the ReptiRad in many different situations with a variety of animals from Crested Geckos to Asian Water Monitors.

Our ReptiRads are designed to be as safe as possible for both the user and the animal. The ReptiRads are designed to be ultra slimline, only 1.8cm thick!

This makes it nearly impossible for any animal to wrap on, cling to or attach itself to the ReptiRad.

We, as I'm sure many of the industry, have seen the issues with guards and animals getting caught in them. This is one if the issues we wanted to rectify.

The ReptiRad is UK/EU designed and manufactured in partnership with experienced heating engineers. When testing the ReptiRad with guards, the guards soaked up a large of the emitted heat and became hotter than the actual surface of the ReptiRad and therefore made the ReptiRad work harder. The reason it has to work harder is the guard is soaking up and holding the heat that should be emitted around the vivarium.

The thermostat then doesn't detect the correct temperature and keeps the ReptiRad working. When we took away the guard, we saw much more improved and efficient running of the ReptiRad.

To summarise, the ReptiRad is so slimline we believe it is nearly impossible for an animal to wrap or become trapped on/in it.

Heat guards give animals something to hold on to way too close to the heating source and also give them something to get stuck in.

My enclosure is not heating up very quickly, is the ReptiRad faulty?

We get this question A LOT!

No, it is not. Traditional CHE bulbs emit a powerful and concentrated heat immediately which pumps heat out, the ReptiRads are designed to be more economical and use less electricity. If you compare the ReptiRad to a home radiator you may understand it a little easier.

The ReptiRad has a large surface area, which heats gradually and warms your enclosure up at a slower rate. Over time (depending on environmental factors) it will reach the temperatures set by the thermostat.

We recommend setting your enclosure up 24 hours before introducing your animal to it, this will optimise performance.

How do I ensure the Radiator is secure?

The ReptiRad 40w & 80w are provided with 4 screws to install to the ceiling of the enclosure. The ReptiRad 125w and 220w are provided with 6 screws. It is important to use the new screws provided and these are mounted in new screw holes, not pre-existing, used holes.

In the event there are not the correct amount of screws in your box, please contact us immediately and do not install ReptiRad.
